An enterprising duo is shining a light on the world of lettings in Hastings and the surrounding area after securing a Start Up Loan from the Let’s Do Business Group (LDBG).
Carri Ruxton and Nina Nicola spotted a gap in the market for a straightforward and honest property management service in the local area. Believing they had the necessary skills, drive and determination to fill this gap, they teamed up and launched Pride Property Management in June 2014.
Pride Property Management offers landlords and tenants a comprehensive service covering all aspects of residential lettings and property rental.
After facing many obstacles and hurdles in pursuit of their goal, Carri and Nina found the funding they needed from the Let’s Do Business Group after being made aware of the Start Up Loans (SUL) scheme.
“A real turning point came after discovering the SUL scheme. It helped us to channel our focus into the nitty gritty of financial planning and our business goals. With this opportunity, as well as support from our friends and families, we felt unstoppable in achieving our goals and superseding the rest!” enthused Carri and Nina.
Their application for a loan of £5,000was agreed, allowing them to purchase lettings software, complete their website and Rightmove application and undertake advertising.
The scheme offers fledgling entrepreneurs an affordable loan and mentoring support to help them kick-start their business. The LDBG delivers the government initiative throughout the southeast of England.
Keir Dellar, Head of Projects at the Let’s Do Business Group, commented: “Giving start ups the support and resources they need to launch their businesses successfully is what this scheme is all about. We are so pleased to have been able to help Carri and Nina and we wish them all the best for their exciting future ahead.”
