A former Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs worker has launched a garden design business in Sussex with the help and support of a Start-Up Loan.
From Russia, to China and then the UK, Yulia Veresh’s passion for travel, culture, architecture and art led her to settle in Sussex where she studied horticulture at Plumpton College.
In March of last year Yulia was able to realise her ambitions after launching Yulia Veresh Garden Design. Operating throughout Sussex, Yulia designs residential and commercial gardens of all sizes and levels of complexity.
More than just a start-up loan
Yulia approached the Let’s Do Business Group (LDBG) for help with getting her venture off the ground. She applied for a £2000 Start-Up Loan and her application was approved, enabling her to get both the financial and business support she needed.
“The SUL scheme gave me confidence and the financial ability to start my business. I was able to purchase design software and laser surveying equipment which are essential in my field,” explained Yulia.
Not only does the government-initiative give a helping hand to fledgling entrepreneurs financially, the mentor support gives them the guidance and confidence they need to get off to a flying start.
